I am well on my way to graduating in May this year. It only took me five years!! (I was an art student for half a semester before I decided that Communication Studies was much more useful and much less...err...something...than Art. No offense to Artsies; my boyfriend has an art degree, and many are nice people! It just was...eeh...It just didn't work for me.)
Currently, I'm working at one of the two libraries on campus. There is the general library with all the regular, normal books, and then there's ...the Art library on the other side of campus with all the art history, and general art books. I don't like the other library. The people there are really strict, and it's dull, and the library is really creepy, even in the day-time! The library I work in is much better, it's nicely lit, has study rooms, and just seems more inviting.
I am looking into getting a job up home at first after graduation, something to save money and get my college loans started off. I am, however, seriously entertaining the idea of living in DC with my sister for the month of June, and looking for work down there. If I get work in DC, I want to work for LUSH Cosmetics. They have such wonderful products!!
I've also been thinking of interning at Walt Disney World, or applying to work there after a time. It's the Happiest Place on Earth, don't you know, and it's what I call "my second home." I've been there more times than I can remember, and yet it never gets old! It's always magical.
My ultimate goal, however, is to move with my boyfriend to Japan and find work there. Well, find work before moving, of course. He wants to move as soon as possible, I want to wait a few years. I want to lose weight so that I'm not a burden on any companies, I want to save money for a flight there and apartment payments, and I want to be able to still pay off my loans while saving up for this. On top of that, with everything happening with the Fukushima-Daiichi plant, and the 8.9/9.0 earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan, I want to wait while they work on rebuilding. I feel like it would be a hassle for gaijin like me to come over finding work now. I have been praying for that nation to heal since the disaster started. I will continue to do so.
In my family, I am the youngest of two daughters. My older sister and her husband will be welcoming a little girl into their lives around the 9th of April. I'm going to be an aunt, and I am determined to sew her the frilliest, cutest dresses for her, all while teaching her how to hit things with sticks. I'm such an evil person~
I love Deco! I am currently working on re-decoing my phone, as the old pearls I had on didn't keep their sheen, and I had an issue with exactly HOW much glue was TOO much...I have a little Samsung Juke, so it's impossible to find cases for it, so I am just going to decorate it and make it pretty!
I also love reading. I take a number of books out at a time, on French History, Etiquette, faeries, languages...Anything I can think of! I finally got to read The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle, but I had to get it out on Interlibrary Loan. Can you believe we don't have it in my school's library!?
As far as cooking, I love baking, and I like making bento lunches. I like cooking tofu, and I love fruits and veggies the most (though food is getting so expensive these days)! I don't cook much while I'm at school (too busy!), and our apartment's kitchen is usually too messy for me to want to do anything, and no one but myself and my room mate seem to know how to do dishes. Ick.
I also am learning crochet, embroidery, sewing, and I am re-teaching myself French and Japanese.
Today I ate:
1 tbsp. Nutella
1 Whole Wheat, Omega-3 Bagel with 2 tbsp whipped Cream Cheese
about 4 Cheddar mini rice cakes (Quakes brand)
1 Litre of water (will be 2 by evening)
Hooray, this is my second entry! Maybe I can make this a daily thing, haha.
